What is Project Seven ?
The Inaugural Meeting was held at the Long Melford Working Men's Club on 7th April 1982.
It was decided on the name 'Project Seven' because seven members were present.
We are all volunteers, and not part of any political or religious organisation.
Our aim is simply to help as many local Charities and Organisations as possible.
In 2009 we helped over 58 groups, giving away over £15,000
We raise money during the year from BBQs, Teas, Coffees, Cabaret and Car Park Management, but our main event is the Big Night Out in November each year in Melford Hall Park. We also provide logistical support to other organisations.
At the end of each year we give the money raised away at our Annual Presentation evening, and then we start again!
